Saddleworth 3D (yellow shirts) were too hot for South Manchester to handle
Last weekend saw plenty of games in the Manchester Amateur Cup, with tense drama for several Lancashire and Cheshire AFL teams and penalty shoot-outs.
The most nerve-tingling one was at Trafford United as they hosted AFC Oldham, with the game ending at 1-1 and AFC Oldham keeping their nerve to win the shoot-out by 8-7.
Salford Vics reserves saw two goals from Ken Jackson end at 2-2 draw with Dom Doyle, and Vics then won the penalty shoot out 4-3.
Badger Casuals are through after a 3-1 win at Barrhill Lads, but Trafford United reserves lost out 3-2 at Moorside Rangers Development.
There were two vital games in the L&C Premier Division, with leaders Moston Brook ending AFC Monton’s unbeaten run with a hard-earned 2-1 victory
Salford Vics kept up their undefeated start to the season with goals from Josh Lawman, Jono Hayes, Mules Jevons and Cam Woodhouse giving them a 4-0 win in their derby game against fourth-placed North Walkden.
That moved them up to second spot five points behind Brook, but with two games in hand.
Division One leaders Bedians were held 2-2 at R Kix and Moston Brook reserves closed the gap to three points with a gritty 3-2 victory over Bury Ams.
Division Three hotshots Jlingz got back to winning ways with a 7-1 win at Santos.
Jlingz opened the scoring, with Santos equalising with a Sam Ryder spot kick.
The visitors scored two more in the closing minutes of the first half and a fourth at the beginning of the second half knocked the stuffing out of Santos as JLingz scored three further goals.
Saddleworth 3D were too hot to handle in the first half at South Manchester, building an impressive 4-0 lead, but a spirited South kept in the frame before losing 6-1.
