Junior sport - Football
Chadderton Park under-14s Lions claimed their first silverware of their first season with a comprehensive 7-0 win against AFC Stanley Reds in the East Manchester League Cup final at the Tameside Stadium.
Antonis Koiloropoulos started the rout with a superbly-taken finish, and this was followed up with a first half hat-trick from Aidan Boyles.
His first goal was a wonderful volley from a great Dalton Martins cross, while the other two came after forcing mistakes from the Stanley defence and taking full advantage.
The Lions continued dominating their opponents for large parts of the second half, and they were rewarded with further goals.
Koiloropoulos scoring his second of the game, Kristian Walker notched from a Charlie Sarsfield corner, and an awesome last goal from Thomas James Cassidy sealed the win and the cup success.
Chadderton Park under-14s Dragons enjoyed a good 4-1 win away at Chaddy Reds.
Carlos Santos scored two, while Liam Wilson and Abdullha Cheema goals ensured the Dragons claimed the three points.
Chadderton Park under-18s extended their lead at the top of the Bolton and Bury Premier League table after beating second-placed Westbury 7-2.
An early goal from Joseph Ray gave Park the lead after a swift turn in the box gave him the chance to power home into the bottom corner.
Arron Orchard scored from distance, while Jack Dance scored a beauty when flicking it up on the edge of the box before smashing his volley into the net.
Westbury pulled one back making it 3-1, before Joseph Pandolfo scored a great goal, using his strength to keep the defenders at bay before powering home for a 4-1 lead.
The second half was even, until Westbury pulled one back to make it 4-2.
Dance put the game to bed when great work from Sam Oko found him unmarked.
A brilliant free kick late on by Dance made it 6-2, and at the end a perfectly exquisite chip gave the same player his fourth and Chaddy Park’s seventh.
Park's under-17s Eagles suffered a disappointing 7-1 defeat at home to Denton Youth in the Tameside Saturday League.
A heavily depleted Eagles deservedly took the lead in the 16th minute when Tom Johnson picked up the ball on the half way line and took a couple of steps forward before unleashing a brilliant 45-yard shot into the top corner.
But Denton started to play themselves back into the game and a number of errors by both the Eagles defence and midfield gifted Denton a number of chances which they clinically took.
Chaddy found themselves on the back foot throughout the second half as Denton ran out big winners.
Chadderton Park under-18s Lions earned a point in a hard-fought midweek encounter when they drew 1-1 at home to Midway in the Tameside Sunday League.
Midway took the lead with a deflected goal.
Determination did not stop, though, and the equaliser came from Ryan Tetlow.
Chadderton Park under-14s Lions enjoyed a great 4-0 win away at Woodbank Blacks to secure their place in their first-ever North Bury League Cup final.
A superb burst out of defence and goal by Antonis Koiloropoulos gave the Lions a deserved lead at half time.
Adam Belwassa calmed nerves with a clean finish, while Dalton Martins scored a trademark third as he cut in from the right onto his left and fired home.
David Osiobe added the fourth with a lovely bottom corner finish.
Park's under-13s Griffins progressed to the semi-finals of the North Bury JFL League Cup with a 4-1 win away at Unsworth JFC Raiders.
The Griffins ran out victors thanks to goals from Ollie Havens (two), Kamen Ray and Callum Jones.
An under-strength Chadderton Park under-12s Dragons secured a hard-fought 1-0 win at home to Whitworth Wasps.
Jack Wright pressured the keeper and forced the ball into the far corner of the goal to win the game.
CHADDERTON PARK under-11s are trying hard to raise money for some new training equipment and some team training jackets.
The lads have been doing bag packing at supermarkets as well as other fund-raisers like park runs.
