Two firms with a close association spanning 14 years are delighted to announce mutual expansion plans.
Oldham-based Kirkham Property, Legal and Financial is expanding its estate agency business into Tameside, while Cordingleys Chartered Surveyors, which is based in Ashton under Lyne, is expanding in the opposite direction by establishing another office in Oldham.
The two firms have been closely associated since 2008 when Kirkham Property founder Alan Kirkham became a director in the historic Cordingleys business, first established in 1788 as a land agent for the Earl of Stamford, who owned a considerable amount of land in Tameside and the surrounding areas.
Now Kirkham Property is rebranding the estate agency arm of Cordingleys, allowing its long-time associate to concentrate on its professional services that include surveys, valuations, architectural and design matters and planning applications.
Alan Kirkham at Kirkham Property, says: “We are all really excited about these changes and can promise clients an even better service from both businesses for many years to come, although perhaps, not as many as since Cordingleys was first established.”
The changes will see Cordingleys estate agency relocate from its current premises on Wellington Road in Ashton to a high-profile main road position at Atlas House on Oldham Road, with the Chartered Surveyors moving nearby to Westbourne House on Oldham Road, and also opening an additional office next to the main Kirkham Property office in Chadderton.
Alan Kirkham first launched his estate agency business approximately 40 years ago. Since then, financial and legal services have been added and the business has been re-branded as Kirkham Property, Legal and Financial, to reflect its scale and the services it offers.
It offers a seven-day service across its offices in Chadderton, Royton, Shaw, and Uppermill, and is renowned for its personable, friendly service based on in-depth local knowledge. To maintain continuity and local knowledge, Cordingleys’ current estate agency manager, David Newsam, will continue as property valuer and area manager for Tameside.
He says: “Kirkham Property is a forward-thinking, modern estate agency and we feel this change will bring many advantages to our clients and customers. With the support of Kirkham Property’s experienced and friendly staff, we’ll be able to offer an improved and more extensive service across the Oldham and Tameside areas.”
Both the Kirkham Property and Cordingleys websites will be updated shortly at www.kirkham-property.co.uk and www.cordingleys.co.uk.
Cordingleys’ 0161 330 4800 telephone number will remain but be transferred to Kirkham Property Tameside, and the 0161 330 0432 number will remain with the Chartered Surveyors managed by Alan’s co-owners and directors Stephen Dodgson and Andrew Newsam.
