Deal for warehouse scheme in Chadderton could create 450 jobs

Specialist logistics developers, Rula Developments has secured the purchase of the largest employment plot at Broadway Green Business Park in Chadderton, to deliver what they expect will be the North West’s biggest speculative warehouse development during 2022.

Rula has a track record of delivering high quality warehouse and logistics projects and the impressive plans at Broadway Green reflect the company’s ambitions.

The Broadway Green site off the A663 in Chadderton, Oldham, is owned by FO Developments – a joint venture between Seddon Developments, Grasscroft Developments and Oldham Council. It has outline planning approval for 715,393 ft2 (66,460 m2) of employment space, alongside new residential development and a 20 acre linear park.

Rula’s proposals will see built a 367,000 sq ft (34,110 m2) new HQ-style logistics unit with dedicated office space and employee facilities. The building will be delivered to BREEAM ‘very good’ environmental rating and Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ‘A’ rated, the design maximises natural lighting, along with enhanced landscaping and screening. Once complete, the unit could create around 450 jobs.

Rula Developments will now submit a Reserved Matters planning application to Oldham Council.

Rula Developments is behind successful commercial developments including Winsford Gateway, Maple 125, Barnsley and a new bespoke manufacturing facility for Tiger Trailers in Winsford. Rula is supported in the purchase of the site by funding partners and is actively seeking new opportunities.
