Chadderton-based logistics company, H&B Logistics, has secured a six-figure funding package from Lombard Asset Finance to expand its 40-strong fleet responsible for moving up to 17,000 pallets every month.
The family-run company, which offers nationwide and international pallet delivery, has used the £131,000 finance to purchase two double deck trailers and two 44-tonne articulating trucks.
Over the last 31 years, Lombard has supported the firm’s acquisition of industry-leading trucks and trailers, including a new green fleet of EURO6 compliant trucks.
The business was founded in 1989 by the Hall and Byrne families to offer a nationwide next day pallet delivery service within the UK. The company employs 48 staff and plans to recruit more people as the business grows.
H&B Logistics recently completed a second phase expansion at its premises at Westwood Business Park in Chadderton, adding an additional 10,000 sq ft drive-through for its trucks. Plans are underway for phase three of the expansion to add a further 10,000 sq ft next year.
The company has continued operating as an essential service throughout the pandemic, including collecting and distributing PPE across the country. It also offered free delivery of PPE to local care homes.
Alan Byrne, Joint Managing Director at H&B Logistics, said: “Thanks to the support from Lombard, we have been able to continue to expand our fleet by acquiring new Euro6 compliant trucks and trailers to meet the increased demand for our services nationwide.
“Looking forward to next year, we want to continue to expand both our fleet and the premises that we operate from, ensuring that we remain a family-run business helping other local businesses meet demands and needs.”
Jonathan Tinsley, NatWest Senior Relationship Manager and Jackie Grundy, Lombard Senior Relationship Manager continue to support Alan and the team at H&B Logistics.
Jackie said: “This latest funding facility is part of our ongoing commitment to support H&B Logistics with its growth. It’s an established family-run business that is expanding rapidly while remaining conscious of its environmental footprint and ensuring all its vehicle are compliant with the highest industry standards.”
