Pearson Law team wins 2019 Oldham Corporate Quiz which supports DR Kershaw's Hospice

Pearson law team won 2019 Oldham Corporate Quiz
A Team from Pearson Solicitors & Financial Advisers won the 2019 Oldham Corporate Quiz, which is organised by the Oldham Business Awards and raised £1,000 for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.
The annual fun quiz was held at the White Hart restaurant at Lydgate with 18 teams taking part representing businesses across the borough.
The quiz was sponsored by metal fabrication and wirework specialists AMP Fab and AMP Wire, based in Chadderton.
It was hosted by Martyn Torr, founder of the Oldham Business Awards and former Oldham Chronicle business editor, who is now with the New Image events and PR firm.
Teams of four competed for the trophy and the winning Pearson team consisted of chartered legal executive Asa Cocker, wills, trust and probate solicitor Sarah Finnigan, employment solicitor Victoria Schofield and head of employment law Susan Mayall.

Oldham Business Awards supports a number of local charities, including Mahdlo Youth Zone, with its calendar of events through the year.
Dr Kershaw’s Hospice is to receive £1,000 raised at from the corporate quiz and the hospice’s corporate fundraiser, Lisa Buckley, highlighted the range of good work undertaken by the hospice, both on-site and across the borough in patients’ own homes.
She said a programme of upgrades are underway at the hospice to provide patient rooms with new en-suite bathrooms, windows with garden views and extra space for families to visit loved ones. She thanked all those who had organised and supported the corporate quiz, and was assisted by hospice team colleague Grace Carr.
Last year’s corporate quiz was won by Hollinwood-based neurological physiotherapists Physio Matters. The company entered two teams at this year’s event.
Previous quiz winners have included Innovative Technology and Dayna Patterson, the firm’s head of marketing, is one of the Oldham Business Awards volunteer organisers and was at the quiz again this year.
Other firms and organisations taking part this year’s quiz included AMP Fab and AMP Wire, Arundel Bakery, Cornerstone Design & Marketing, technology firm Koderly, Nat West, the DoingBiz4Yourself networking group, Pelican PR from Uppermill and estate agents, surveyors and auctioneers Ryder & Dutton.
The 2020 Oldham Business Awards will be held next May at Queen Elizabeth Hall. Submissions and nominations can be entered now until late December and judges will then shortlist finalists for each of the categories.
The Oldham Chronicle online and Oldham Business Edge magazine, both owned by Oldham-based Credible Media which also owns radio station Revolution 96.2, are again media partners for the awards.

Latest Oldham Business Awards categories include Micro Business, Start-Up and Young Entrepreneur of the Year to Business of the Year categories for firms with turnovers of under £1m, £1-5millon or over £5m.
A new category of Micro Business of the Year has been created. Judges will consider businesses operating in any commercial or industrial sector with between one and 10 employees.
For the first time, people can nominate other individuals and businesses for awards using the official website.
Users can nominate a worthy supplier, business, company or colleague in any of the 11 categories available.
This can be for individual person or company that you believe deserves the recognition they deserve. Simply click the ‘Nominate’ button on the official awards website to complete a simple nomination form.
