A cheque was presented to the hospice recently during the latest professional Oldham social gathering at Oldham Event Centre.

Professional Oldham is a not-for-profit organisation launched three years ago, run by volunteers from local businesses with admin support from Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

They chose the Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in recognition of it’s excellent work across the community and is keen to support local good causes with any proceeds from its activities.

Lisa Buckley, Capital appeals fundraiser at Dr Kershaw’s said, “This is the hospice’s 30th year and we are transforming our in-patient unit to provide patients with separate rooms with en-suite facilities and beautiful garden views.”

“The new-build project will cost £ 2.1 million and we are half-way there. The donation from Professional Oldham will go towards our capital appeal costs and we would like to thank everyone who has taken part in Professional Oldham events over the past few years. You have all contributed to the care of patients and their families at Dr Kershaw’s. We really appreciate this donation.”
