B&M Bargains are moving into the Spindles Shopping Centre
Discount retailer B&M Bargains is opening a new outlet in Oldham town centre this Friday (16th).
The company will take a unit in Spindles Shopping Centre, creating 25 jobs.
It has taken over the top half of former BHS store.
It will be the third B&M store in the town, in addition to Gateway Retail Park, Chadderton, and Hill Street, Oldham.
A spokesperson from B&M said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of even more jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.
“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door in a few weeks.”
The top half of the former BHS store has undergone an internal and external refurbishment programme and created 25 jobs for local people.
B&M is one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers and customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded products including toys, food & drink, homeware, pet products, health and beauty and seasonal range.
Meanwhile, the new B&M colleagues in Oldham were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community.
They chose Dr Kershaw’s Hospice who will be taking centre stage as they officially unveil the new B&M store, alongside the local Mayor, Cllr Shadab Qumer.
The charity aims to help people within the local community living with life-limiting illnesses by providing a range of services tailored to their needs.
They also support the family and dependents of patients who need bereavement support after their loved one has passed away.
In addition to opening the new store, the representatives also received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part and for all their hard work in the local community.
Store manager Lissa Berry said: “The team from Dr Kershaw’s Hospice really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.
“The new team have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day and we can’t wait to get the doors open on Friday and show customers their new B&M Oldham.”
