Fanfarlo tear up the music book

LONDON-based indie poppers Fanfarlo took their exquisite name from a saucy book and count David Bowie as a huge fan.
The five piece — Amos Memon (percussion, vocals) Cathy Lucas (violin, keyboard, mandolin, glockenspiel) Justin Finch (bass, banjo) Leon Beckenham (trumpet, melodica) Simon Balthazar (sax, clarinet) — will release debut album “Reservoir” on Monday.
Fanfarlo take the conventional rules of music making and rip them up preferring to fuse guitar and drums with mandolins, glockenspiels and banjos.
For a totally unique night out, catch Fanfarlo’s Manchester gig at the Deaf Institute on Monday.
Joining Fanfarlo on Monday will be sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg — otherwise known as First Aid Kit.
Debut EP “Drunken Trees” is packed with country-tinged pop and helped the girls to win a legion of new fans on the festival circuit.
