Police investigators are appealing for key witness following the death of an elderly woman.
The man pictured (above) is NOT a suspect in this investigation.
At the time enquiries uncovered he helped the 88-year-old woman after she got stuck in the tram doors when it was stationary.
The initial incident happened at around 10am on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Oldham Central Bee Network tram stop.
A week later, on Saturday, February 22, the woman sadly passed away.
Investigative Support Officer Aislinn Sweeney, from GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: “As our investigation continues, we are keeping an open mind into how this woman tragically passed away.
"It is unclear whether it will be connected to this incident, but following proactive patrols, CCTV trawls and active enquiries we have been unable to identify this man we believe has key information that could help us.
“I would like to make it clear he is not a suspect in this investigation and is not connected in any way to our investigation.
"We simply want to identify him as a witness to the initial incident to understand more."
Anyone with additional detail that could help police is asked to call 0161 856 4741 direct or 101 quoting incident 461 of 22/02/2025.
Alternatively, details can passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Meanwhile, in a totally separate piolice incident, having received intelligence that there was a cannabis farm located in Chadderton Central, neighbourhood officers attended the address.
A male and a female were subsequently arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis, extraction of electricity and for possession of an offensive weapon.
Approximately 90 plants were also seized from the property.
