The Royal Oldham Hospital
Oldham Chronicle boss Matt Ramsbottom has felt compelled to issue a heartfelt 'thank you' message to staff at the Royal Oldham Hospital following new year surgery.
Oldham-based Credible Media Group owner Matt was taken ill with a ruptured appendix at teatime on New Year’s Eve.
He entered hospital before then being operated on during the early hours of New Year’s Day.
Ten days later and Matt is now well on the road to recovery.
Matt said: “I can’t thank the hospital staff enough, particularly those on ward F12.
"The care staff, nurses and doctors work like a Swiss watch to get you better.
"I’d never been in hospital overnight until this, and I can't praise the staff enough - from the surgeons to the ambulance staff, and the nurses and doctors, they were all lovely people.
"This story isn't about me being in hospital, it's about offering credit where it is due to the institution we call the NHS, and the talented people that make it all work as a team."
After the printed edition of the Oldham Chronicle - under previous ownership - ceased after over 160 years in the summer of 2017, Matt stepped in to rescue the newspaper when we moved online in February, 2018.
