Coppice primary school’s recent Charity Day raised £675.29 for local charity, UKeff
Coppice Primary School in Oldham has recently hosted its latest Charity Day, raising a remarkable £675.29 in support of the local charity, UKeff.
UKeff’s mission is to show care and compassion; connect communities; enable, support and empower vulnerable people to transform their lives out of poverty and isolation to become independent and confident persons, able to make Oldham their home and fulfil their potential.
The event marked a meaningful contribution to UKeff’s ongoing efforts to assist Oldham families facing financial challenges, especially in light of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
The school community came together to raise funds through various activities, highlighting their commitment to improving the lives of local families.
Pupils were also invited to attend school in clothes that they felt most comfortable in, making a small donation in return.
The Head Boy and Head Girl at Coppice Primary Academy led efforts by collecting donations at the end of the school day, encouraging everyone to contribute whatever they could to this meaningful cause.
In addition to the dress-down day, pupils in Key Stage 2 had the opportunity to attend an assembly led by representatives from UKeff, who shared insights into the charity's work supporting local families with food donations, financial management guidance, and other essential services.
Andrew Hulmes, Head of School at Coppice Primary Academy, said: “Our pupils are dedicated to making a difference in their community, and it’s inspiring to see them work towards a better future for local families.
“Their enthusiasm for supporting a cause so close to home has made this Charity Day a wonderful success.”
Coppice Primary Academy forms part of Focus-Trust, a charitable primary school trust based in the North-West of England and West Yorkshire that aims to provide great schools at the heart of communities where children thrive, achieve, and succeed.
