Eleven members of Oldham Mountain Rescue Team were involved for one-and-a-half hours after they were contacted by North West Ambulance Service to assist with a female who had dislocated her knee in a field near Lydgate, Saddleworth.
Team members and a team vehicle were deployed to the incident.
Paramedics were already on scene administering pain relief when they arrived.
The female's knee was immobilised using one of the team's vacuum splints before she was carried across the field on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance.
