Classic comedy will close 2024 Little French Cinema season in Oldham

Mon Oncle d’Amérique : My American Uncle, is directed by Alain Resnais
The Little French Cinema's 2024 film season closes with a final film, which has a celebrated director and cast.
It is a classic comedy, Mon Oncle d’Amérique : My American Uncle, directed by Alain Resnais, and will be showing on Thursday, November 7 at 7pm at Oldham Library.
This is one of the oddest movies ever to emerge from the hand of director Alain Resnais, and also perhaps his most popular.
A trio of people (Gérard Depardieu, Nicole Garcia, Roger Pierre) are presented as “case histories” by a lecturer - and we see them not only in their work environments, but also in terms of the cinematic role models (Jean Gabin, Jean Marais, Danielle Darrieux) that have helped shape their self-images.
The film (in French with English subtitles), will be shown on a large screen in Oldham Library’s Performance Space.
A limited number of tickets will be available to purchase on the door at £5 per film (cash only).
Tickets can be booked in advance for individual films at £4 plus booking fee through Eventbrite.co.uk.
