Up to £100 vouchers up for grabs for green-fingered residents

Date published: 05 August 2024

Housing association First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO)’s ‘Budding Neighbourhoods’ competition returns for 2024 to celebrate green-fingered tenants and their home and gardening efforts.

The online-only competition runs from today (Monday) until 5pm on Friday, August 23, and FCHO customers entering are once again asked to showcase their planting and growing efforts in their home and garden.

To enter, residents need to upload an image on the social housing provider’s website.

There are three categories in the competition, which are: A Brew and My View, which allows residents to show off their planting efforts while enjoying a relaxing cuppa; My Garden Harvest, focusing on customers who have grown their own food items, and Garden Genius, highlighting the inventive ways residents have transformed their garden.

The first prize in each category is £100 Love2Shop vouchers, with second and third place in each category receiving £50 and £25 respectively.

Emma Cafferky, Stronger Communities Manager at FCHO, said: “We’re really excited that our much-loved Budding Neighbourhoods competition is coming back once again for 2024.

"The competition recognises and celebrates our customers who make an effort to keep their homes and gardens looking lovely.

“We’ve had a relatively wet summer so far, which isn’t great for us as humans but for our plants and gardens, it’s magnificent.

"We’re looking forward to seeing what beautiful spaces are entered this year.”

The social landlord is encouraging as many entries as possible.

Entries can be made via FCHO’s website here

If residents would like support with digital submissions, they are encouraged to email FCHO’s Stronger Communities team at: ci@fcho.co.uk or call 0161 393 7117.

The winners will be contacted after the competition closes and winning images shared on the housing association’s website and social media channels.

Good luck to everyone taking part!
