A fun-filled day at Stoneswood

Date published: 21 July 2024

Stoneswood Residential Home in Delph held their annual summer fete yesterday (Saturday).

The fun-filled day brought together residents and their families, staff, and members of the local community while raising money for two charities, Age UK and Mountain Rescue.

There was something on the day for the whole family, including facepainting, ice-cream, balloon making and a variety of local community stalls, along with everyone’s favourite the tombola.

There was also Saddleworth Tractor Group and an American car attended for motor enthusiasts.

Food on the day was provided by the Garage Company, and the day was made extra special with live singers.

Hannah Clayton, activities Co-ordinator, said: “We are thrilled with this year's summer fete - thank you to everyone that helped make it a special day and especially made it a day to remember for our residents.

"We raised lots of money for our chosen charities Age UK and Mountain Rescue.”

David, who went along to the fete, said he had a brilliant day, it was a lovely atmosphere and great food and company, set in a fabulous setting.

There was a variety of entertainment all round, and very friendly and helpful staff.

"The day brought fun and joy," added David.
