Shay Wake's new £300k beer garden is now open
Date published: 19 July 2024
The new Shay Wake beer garden will be open from 8am until 8pm every day
The Shay Wake has officially opened its new, larger beer garden, following a £300,000 development project.
The Wetherspoon pub on Milnrow Road, which first opened in Shaw in December 2011, is managed by Hollie Parry-Jones.
A brand-new beer garden has been built at the rear of the premises, and officially opened yesterday (Thursday).
The space was once occupied by a public car park, which has been developed to create the new garden.
This new space is in addition to the existing smaller garden, providing a larger outdoor space, with ramp access to the different garden levels.
The new additional garden (1862 sq ft) can accommodate an extra 166 seated customers, at free-standing dining tables and chairs, as well as high-topped tables and stools.
The paved garden includes a pergola, providing cover and shade over some of the seated area, together with potted trees, climbing plants, flowers and shrubs, as well as festoon lighting and colourful wall murals.
Pub manager Hollie said: “We are thrilled with our brand-new, larger garden, which is a great addition to the pub and will provide a lovely outdoor space for our customers to enjoy.”
The garden will be open from 8am until 8pm every day.
