Date published: 30 June 2024

Greater Manchester Police investigators are appealing for information following an early morning collision on the M60.

At around 4am yesterday morning (Saturday), police officers were alerted to a road traffic collision involving a single vehicle on the M60, Junction 22 anti-clockwise exit slip road.

It transpired an Audi A3 car was travelling in the direction of Hollinwood interchange in Oldham before colliding with traffic lights and coming to a stop on the slip road.

Six people were found inside with two currently receiving treatment for what is believed to be serious injuries.

Road closures remained in place yesterday morning whilst officers conducted further enquiries.

Detective Constable Rachael Stafford, from GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said yesterday: “Since the early hours of this morning we have been investigating this incident to understand fully what has happened that has left two people in currently a serious condition.

“We are interested in speaking to anyone who witnessed the collision or the vehicle in the lead up to this incident, especially if dashcam or CCTV footage from properties is available and were recording at the time to help with our investigation.

"Anyone with information, we would encourage you to check and contact us direct on 0161 856 4745 quoting incident 618 of 29/06/2024 or through 101."

Alternatively, details can be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
