Determined Niamh is targeting world championship glory in Abu Dhabi

A determined teenager from Royton will be chasing her dream of securing World Championship glory in August when she heads to Abu Dhabi to take part in the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) Youth tournament.
Niamh Schofield, who is now 16 and recently left North Chadderton School, originally fell in love with martial arts two years ago when she was disgnosed with autism.
She currently trains five times each week at the Manchester Top Team gym in Ashton, and after being spotted at a trials day in Liverpool, she earned her call-up to the World Championships.
Niamh will head to Abu Dhabi on August 5.
The IMMAF Youth World Championships are set to feature more than 800 talented athletes from 45 different countries.
Niamh dreams of one day becoming an MMA fighter, and she's certainly going the right way about achieving her ambition so far.
