A bonanza weekend of music and fun beckons

Organisers are gearing up for the start of a bonanza weekend of family fun and happiness at Welli-fest and the legendary Saddleworth Show.

Welli-fest is nearing another sell-out and, and with reasonable weather forecast, and a fantastical musical line-up another fabulous festival is forecast this year.

The event is run by the Rotary Clubs of Oldham Metro and Saddleworth and all profits go to help local charities and good causes.

The events are run entirely by volunteers and organisers have thanked everyone who helps make the events so successful.

Gates open at 12pm on Saturday, along with the food and bar outlets this year, so come early grab your spot and settle down for some great music until late evening.

The bar is twice the capacity of last year, there are more toilets available, plenty of free water available, better sound system, and a great choice of food outlets - so come and enjoy the day.

Because it is the 50th anniversary, this year entrance to the Saddleworth Show on Sunday is FREE for everyone as thanks for the community support.

There is still lots of free entertainment, including the Dinosaur Invasion, Dog show and agility (bring your dog along), Punch and Judy, Magic Shows, Sandart, Circus Skills, Aerial Dance, Yoga, Martial Arts, Global Grooves drumming workshops, TfGM bike riding to make your own smoothie, and a youth music showcase.

Also Country Corner will feature lots of local artisans, pony rides, face and glitter artists, henna tattoos, and there's a fairground.
