New chairman for Saddleworth Male Voice Choir

Paul McCann has been appointed the new chairman of Saddleworth Male Voice Choir after John Watts, chairman for 11 years, stood down.

Paul, who also works for Oldham Council as a Community Safety Officer for Failsworth, Hollinwood and Medlock Vale, has been with SMVC for ten years and is honoured to step up on behalf of thr choir.

John, who has been pivotal to the choir, will continue to assist Mr McCann as the choir’s vice chair, in addition to other duties.

Paul said: “I’ve got huge boots to fill where John is concerned.

"However, in the next 12 months I shall be in a position to glean all aspects of the role and continue to help ensure that Saddleworth Male Voice Choir continue to prosper and grow and be an integral part of all that is great about Saddleworth.”
