Oldham author Donna Marie Smith shows off a copy of Marmalade Hue
A talented Oldham author, who generally only writes short stories and poetry in her spare time, has seen her recently published book zoom to the number one spot in the British poetry best sellers list.
Donna Marie Smith only wrote poems for family and friends' special birthdays initially, but in 2020 she entered a competition run by Northern Roots and won the adult category.
This encouraged Donna Marie to take her writing further and she has had over 20 published in various anthologies.
Donna Marie said: "On May 15, I had my own poetry book called Marmalade Hue published by Wheelsong publishers run by Steve Wheeler, which is on sale from Amazon.
"However, after only a week of it being published it reached number one in the British poetry best sellers and remained there for a few days!
"I have had sales in America, France and Ireland."
