Chadderton gunshot incident - Wales holiday park swoop leads to three more arrests

Three suspects have been questioned by Greater Manchester Police detectives as an investigation into a serious incident in Chadderton last week continues.

Detectives continue their investigation following an incident that took place last Wednesday (May 22), when patrols were called to Royal Oldham Hospital Accident and Emergency department as well as to Busk Road, following a man presenting himself with gunshot wounds and another receiving serious knife wounds at the scene.

Yesterday afternoon (Tuesday), detectives from GMP’s Major Incident Team, with assistance from specialised colleagues in North Wales Police, executed a warrant at a holiday park in Abergele, North Wales.

As a result of the warrant, officers have made three arrests.

Two men aged 32-years-old and 22-years-old were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All remain in police custody after being questioned by detectives.

Detective Inspector Alex Wilkinson, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “So far, we have conducted five search warrants and nine property searches have been executed as part of our investigation whilst securing one charge and making a total of eight arrests.

“Our work is far from over, but the investigation is moving at pace, and we continue to work relentlessly to capture a picture of what happened leading up to the incident.

“We continue to urge anyone who has any information or any CCTV, mobile or dashcam footage from the area in the evening of May 22 to contact us as a matter of urgency."
