Steve's next big fund-raising adventure is just weeks away

The countdown is on ahead of intrepid fund-raiser Steve Hill's next African adventure.

In three weeks time, Shaw schoolteacher Steve will be flying out to Uganda again to get involved in some new community projects in Masaka - and to take on the Uganda Marathon for the sixth time!

Steve said: "I’ll also be visiting the projects that Team Hill Charitable Trust are currently supporting at Jomain Midland Academy - JOMAC, and Eunice Medical Centre on Kalangala Island along with Rhinah Kindergarten and Junior School. and Bugabira primary school."

Steve has undertaken a huge number of major fundraising challenges to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for good causes.

These have included climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, trekking 200 miles across the Sahara Desert and completing multiple marathons, including the Mount Everest and North Pole Marathons, along with Ultra Marathons through the Amazon Jungle and the Arctic wilderness.

More recently, Steve completed 14 consecutive marathons running coast to coast across Costa Rica and Tajikistan.

In 2019, Steve founded his own charity, the Team Hill Charitable Trust, through which he raises money to support projects and causes in his local community.

Steve organises gift bag appeals for young carers in Oldham, purchases equipment for children with disabilities, and regularly spends time decorating the local hospital’s children outpatient department.

Before flying out to Uganda in three weeks, Steve will be collecting old running trainers, sports kits, clothing and stationery to take with him for the children and young people at the schools he’ll be visiting this time.

If you have any of these items you’d like to donate, they’ll be greatly appreciated.

"A huge thankyou, as always, to everyone for your continued support of our Uganda Projects," Steve added.
