The family of Shaun Davies, who passed away following a road traffic collision on Stockport Road in nearby Ashton last week, have paid tribute to him.
Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Unit Investigators carried out enquiries after a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle at about 11:55pm on Wednesday, April 24.
Sadly Shaun, who was aged 40, died at the scene.
A man aged 29 was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
A second man aged 23 later handed himself in and was also arrested on suspicion of the same crime.
Both suspects have been released on bail pending further investigations.
Paying tribute to him, Shaun’s family said: “We sadly lost our beloved brother Shaun on the 24th April.
"He was a much-loved son, brother and uncle.
“Shaun was such a beautiful kind person who had a loving and caring character to him.
"He brought laughter and smiles to anyone he was around.
“As it was a very unexpected death to the family we have set up a GoFundMe page to give Shaun the send off he deserves.
“Us as a family ask for privacy at this time to grieve in peace. Thank you.”
