Saddleworth villagers are upset after a wave of vandalism destroyed treasured greenhouses and wrecked allotments in a wave of destruction.
The incidents happened on Sunday evening when Uppermill allotments were vandalised and damage was done to a parking area at Dobcross garden centre.
A Delph villager said: "Then they vandalised along Delph river, and smashed up a Delph wooden tree built by a villager.
“They also broke into one of the hen pens.
"They smashed a load of car windows and then smashed greenhouses on Delph Allotment between 9pm and 11.30pm.
“People are truly heartbroken.
"Folk don’t realise how important gardens and allotments are for mental health.”
Now locals are demanding “community action” and police are reported to be investigating.
