First Bus announces changes on Huddersfield corridor from this Sunday

Date published: 20 March 2024

First Bus has announced changes to services operating on the corridor between Huddersfield and Oldham, which come into effect from this Sunday (March 24).

The 184 service will no longer be run by First Bus as it transfers to Stagecoach Manchester to become part of the Bee Network controlled by Transport for Greater Manchester.

Customers are advised that Bee Network services on this corridor will accept First Bus tickets for a limited period and to check the Transport for Greater Manchester website here for details.

Evening short journeys between Huddersfield and Marsden will continue to be operated by First Bus as part of a new 383 service travelling to Marsden Dirker instead of Marsden Hard End.

The newly-numbered 383 service replaces the 185 and 186 between Huddersfield and Marsden Dirker with buses running through Linthwaite instead of along the A62 Manchester Road.

More evening trips have been added and morning journeys on the 186 will be removed.

Journeys on the 181 between Huddersfield, Slaithwaite and Wilberlee will be renamed 382 and boosted by an earlier journey from Huddersfield at 06:30 on weekdays, more evening journeys and a new two-hourly Sunday service.

Between Hoyle House Fold and Cowlersley Lane, the 382 route will be altered to run along the A62 Manchester Road instead of via Linthwaite.

Full details of the changes can be found by visiting the First Bus website here
