LWC Drinks is a Chadderton headquartered wholesaler
LWC Drinks, one of the UK’s largest independent drinks wholesalers, is proudly marking National Apprenticeship Week with its 300th apprenticeship placement since 2020.
The Chadderton headquartered wholesaler - which distributes drinks primarily to the hospitality trade - has been working with national training provider, NOVA Training, to offer a range of high-quality learning and development opportunities to individuals with an interest in developing their skills and experience within a fast-paced FMCG business.
And this National Apprenticeship Week proudly marks its 300th placement since the business introduced the scheme in 2020.
Dave Cole, Head of HR at LWC Drinks, which is based on Greenside Way, said: “This National Apprenticeship Week marks a really proud moment for LWC Drinks.
"Not just because it gives us the opportunity to recognise all the incredible apprentices we’ve had through our doors over the years, but because we are currently on track to hit our 300th placement since 2020 - a figure we’re understandably very proud of.
“As a growing family business, LWC has always been committed to nurturing and developing the talents of the next generation of workers, and our apprenticeship programme is a vital part of this commitment.
"With apprenticeships available across most areas of our business, apprentices can take all shapes and forms at LWC.
"From distribution to IT, business administration to urban driver, there really is something for everyone.
"And we don’t rest on our laurels.
"We guarantee permanent roles at the end of the apprenticeship, with all our apprentices moving into full time roles.
“Just last year LWC was recognised for its dedication to apprenticeships and training with an Award for ‘Continuous Commitment to Staff Development through Apprenticeships’ and as one of the industry’s leading companies for successful apprenticeship employers.
“With 17 depots across the country, LWC is a dynamic, fast-paced, growing business and an exciting place to work for those with big ambitions.
"We are always open to applications and pride ourselves in the diversity of both the roles and people we place.”
The wholesaler has a number of incredible local apprenticeship success stories, including Melissa Walsh, the youngest-ever person to obtain the CIPD L3 HR qualification, following on from her successful Business Administrator Apprenticeship.
Adam Cheetham completed his Business Administrator Apprenticeship and is now a fully-fledged member of LWC Pub Group Dorbiere’s accounts team, and Remease Hall, WMS Operational Support, recently achieved a distinction grade at his apprenticeship end-point assessment.
