Maggie’s Oldham raise an amazing £83k at their annual Orange Ball

This year’s Maggie’s Oldham Orange Ball saw 520 guests enjoy dinner and an evening of entertainment at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
The evening was hosted by the hilarious Nina Gilligan, C and C catering served up a delicious meal, and guests were treated to non-stop entertainment from Flame Oz and Calvos, The Northern Lights, Rock Choir Bolton, Middleton, Saddleworth and Stockport, Paul Pashley and his seven-piece live band and DJ Andy Flash.
The event was generously headline sponsored by Pearsons Solicitors and Financial Advisers, with further sponsorship from Litecraft Group Ltd, Dronsfields, Manchester Cabins, Clear Solutions Ltd, Office-Tech Holdings, Breakey & Nuttall, Koderly, O’Donnell Solicitors, Nicola Mitchell Mortgages and Protection, Gemini Health Protection Ltd, Xquisite Event Management and Gaskells Propery Management Ltd.
Laura Tomlinson, Centre Fundraising Manager at Maggie’s Oldham, said: "Wow! What a spectacular night we had!

"We are absolutely bowled over that we raised £83,000 – it’s epic!
"We want to send a heartfelt thank you to each and every person that joined us on the night and helped to make it such a remarkable night for Maggie’s.
"The night would not have been possible without the support from our generous sponsors, everyone who so kindly donated a prize for our auctions and raffle and everyone’s overwhelming personal generosity on the night.
"A big shout out goes to everyone who helped bring our event to life, from the teams at Queen Elizabeth Hall, New Image, Xquisite and C&C catering, to our photographers Darren and Peter, our hilarious host Nina Gilligan, and our incredible line up of entertainers.
"Last but by no means least, to our superstar Board members and volunteers who helped us to put on a fabulous event and made sure everyone had the absolute best night.

"It was such a special night for Maggie’s and all the money raised means we can be here to support people with cancer, and their loved ones, at a time when they need us most.

Maggie’s help people take back control when cancer turns their life upside down.
Maggie’s expert staff focus on the things that really make a difference to people with cancer and their friends and family, like help with stress and depression, managing side-effects of treatment, family support, helping with money worries and bereavement support.
All Maggie’s support is free and you don't need an appointment or referral – just pop in.
Maggie’s receive no government or NHS funding and rely on the generosity of their supporters, fundraising, donations and gifts in wills to keep their doors open for those who need them.
Next year’s Maggie’s Oldham Orange Ball will take place on Saturday, November 9 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Tickets sold out within weeks this year, so keep your eyes peeled for ticket sales launching in early 2024.
