Lucky students at E-ACT Royton and Crompton Academy (part of E-ACT, a family of 28 academies) were treated to a performance by local musician and singer Imogen-Paige.
Her performance was part of a careers session with Year 8 and 9 students, with the hope being that some of them were inspired to consider a performing arts path in the future.
Imogen-Paige is a former E-ACT Royton and Crompton Academy student who is from Oldham and currently gigs around Manchester.
She is a singer-songwriter, but also covers country and pop songs, along with some acoustic rock covers.
She plays at a wide range of events, from carnivals and markets, to weddings - she can even sometimes be found busking!
Andrea Atkinson, Headteacher at E-ACT Royton and Crompton Academy, said: “It was brilliant to welcome Imogen-Paige back to Royton and Crompton.
"I know all the students enjoyed her wonderful performance and it was great for them to hear from her about her journey in the music world.”
Tom Campbell, CEO of E-ACT, said: “It’s lovely to hear that former students are coming back to visit and sharing their career paths with current students.
"It’s never too early for young people to start thinking about what they want to do with their lives and Imogen-Paige is proof that people should follow their dreams.”
