Join Donna at the Maggie’s Culture Crawl and help people with cancer

Cancer support charity Maggie’s is inviting you to see your town in a whole new light while raising vital funds to help people living with cancer.
Maggie’s Culture Crawl - an unforgettable 10k sponsored walk - will take place in Oldham on Friday, September 29.
On the night you’ll get exclusive access to some of the best venues the town has to offer, there’ll be live entertainment and food and drink along the way, and you’ll even get a Maggie’s t-shirt, so that you can help paint the town orange!
Maggie’s visitor, Donna Ward, is taking part this year after she was diagnosed with cancer for a second time in June 2023.
She is currently undergoing treatment for a GIST cancer, a rare type of sarcoma found in the wall of the digestive system.
Donna’s brother-in-law, Chris, also had a cancer diagnosis and very sadly passed away in June this year.
Donna and Chris both found support at Maggie’s.
Donna said: “Maggie’s have been there when I needed them and have supported me through some upsetting times.
"I see Maggie’s as my safe place, where I can express my fears and they are always there to listen and support me.
"Chris (pictured above) and our family also found support at Maggie’s when he became very unwell earlier this year.
"Maggie’s was a place where Chris could open up and talk about his concerns.
"We spent some special time at Maggie’s on Chris’ 50th birthday, when we held some celebrations there as he was in the hospital at the time.
"Chris was a funny and intelligent man with a good heart.
"He will be forever in our hearts, and we will always remember the happy memories we shared.
"I am taking part in Culture Crawl in memory of Chris and because Maggie’s have been a wonderful support for me and my family.”
