Chaddy Park pan disability team are looking for a new home

Date published: 25 July 2023

Chadderton Park Football Club's pan disability team are on the look-out for a regular training base.

Coach's, volunteers and parents are keen to find a new home, otherwise the team may be forced to fold.

Coach Danielle Harrison said: "We were well established prior to covid and were initially focused on cerebral palsy, but due to indoor sport restrictions we really did struggle and had a period of almost two years where the children couldn’t play.

"We finally started again in April 2022, but have since faced difficulties with securing a venue at a cost that is feasible for us with limited numbers.

"Our current venue has changed the price and the lettings company have recently cancelled a few sessions.

"Also the indoor sports hall hasn’t been available recently, which is needed for the children using aids.

Ideally the coach's need a suitable sports hall every other Sunday for one-and-a-half hours, between 10-11.30am, or a 9.30am start.

Danielle added: "We are so pleased to be back and the children absolutely love it, but as it’s every other week only, we really need a secure provider.

"We have opened our team up to pan disability now to make it accessible to children with other disabilities, and they all just want to play."

The Chadderton Park pan disability team is always on the lookout for new players and new volunteers to get involved, particularly with coaching.
