Housing association First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO)’s ‘Budding Neighbourhoods’ competition returns for 2023 to celebrate green-fingered tenants and their home and gardening efforts.
The online-only competition runs from today (Monday), until 5pm on Friday, August 4, 2023, and customers entering are asked to showcase their planting and growing efforts in their home and garden.
To enter, residents need to upload an image on the social housing provider’s website.
There are three categories in the competition, which are: A Brew and My View, which allows residents to show off their planting efforts while enjoying a relaxing cuppa; My Garden Harvest, focusing on customers who have grown their own food items, and Garden Genius, highlighting the inventive ways residents have transformed their garden.
The first prize in each category is £100 Love2Shop vouchers, with second and third place in each category receiving £50 and £25 respectively.
An overall competition winner will also be picked, who will receive £200 Love2Shop vouchers.
Michael Webb, Customer Involvement Officer at FCHO, said: “We’re really excited to bring Budding Neighbourhoods back once again for 2023.
"The competition is a great way to recognise and celebrate our customers who make an effort to keep their homes and gardens looking lovely.
“We’ve been running our Budding Neighbourhoods competition for quite a few years now and we saw some fantastic entries in 2022.
"The standard was really high, so I’m really looking forward to seeing the fruits of our customers’ labour in 2023.”
The social landlord is encouraging as many entries as possible.
Entries can be made via FCHO’s website here
If residents would like support with digital submissions, they are encouraged to email FCHO’s Stronger Communities team at: ci@fcho.co.uk or call 0161 393 7117.
The winners will be contacted in September and winning images shared on the housing association’s website and social media channels.
Good luck to everyone taking part!
