Man jailed following sexual assaults and public order offences at Royal Oldham Hospital

A man has been jailed following a Greater Manchester Police investigation into a shocking incident at the Royal Oldham Hospital last year.
Dylan Hardman (aged 26), of no fixed abode, appeared at Minshull Street Crown Court on Thursday (July 13), to be sentenced for three sexual assaults and racially aggravated public order offences, as well as provocation of violence.
He was sentenced to 20 months imprisonment and given a criminal behaviour order, in addition to having to to sign the sex offenders registers for ten years.
This was after Hardman visited the Royal Oldham Hospital on the afternoon of Monday, November 14, 2022.
Whilst in the waiting room with members of the public, unprovoked, he began to shout and make direct racist remarks and questions towards a person who ultimately feared for their safety, as well as sexually assaulting two people.
As he continued to become erratic and cause understandable distress and concern, a nurse moved Hardman from the waiting room, who ultimately returned on several occasions to continue the abuse.
He was later led to a treatment room and tests were conducted after complaints of chest pains, where he continued to inappropriately behave.
Later leaving and being escorted by security, he was arrested the following week after reports were made and enquiries conducted to launch an investigation.
Prior to this on June 19, 2021, Hardman sexually assaulted a person at a store in Oldham, later being identified by officers from CCTV.
Police Sergeant Joseph Dunne, from the newly-formed Oldham Neighbourhood Prevention Hub, said: “This result is a product of some great partnership work between GMP, the Royal Oldham Hospital and Oldham Council’s Community Safety Hub.
“He has regularly caused problems and demand at the hospital so with the help of key partners a criminal behaviour order was requested from the court which has been granted to limit his attendance in future.
"I hope this reassures the public that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated - Greater Manchester Police is dedicated to safeguarding our community, including our partnership agencies."
