Graham Quinn has been awarded an OBE
Graham Quinn, the CEO of the Oldham-based New Bridge Multi Academy Trust, has been awarded an OBE in the recently published King’s Birthday Honours list for services to Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
The New Bridge Multi Academy Trust supports seven schools, of which Hollinwood, New Bridge, Spring Brook and the Springboard Project are in Oldham.
The wider New Bridge Group also manages Horizons and Future Finders, organisations that provide local community pathways for adults.
“It’s been my absolute privilege to serve our communities in Oldham," said Mr Quinn.
"This award is also dedicated to all the amazing colleagues, governors and trustees I have worked with throughout my career.
"I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the most wonderful children and young people who have made coming to work every day a real joy.
"They are the one’s equally deserving of this accolade.”
Four Oldhamers feature in King Charles III's first official birthday honours list, which celebrates the incredible public service of people across the country.
Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) employee Idris Ali has been recognised.
A long-standing civil servant of 22 years, Idris has been awarded a BEM - a British Empire Medal - for his dedication to volunteering in the community.

Last but certainly not least, Oyovwe Sagbodje Kigho, the founder and chief executive officer of the Widows Empowerment Trust, receives a BEM for services to bereaved people in Manchester.
