Police appeal for information following an assault in Oldham.

At 04:27 yesterday morning (Saturday), police were called to a report of an assault on Union Street in the town centre.

A man in his 20’s is believed to have been attacked by two men, in which he suffered serious injuries, not currently believed to be life-threatening.

The incident took place approximately between 04:18 and 04:24.

The two males are thought to have been around the area of Waterloo Street before the incident took place, and were reportedly seen after the incident running in the direction of Horsedge Street, Oldham.

Officers have now released a photo of two people they would like to speak to, as they may be able to help with their enquiries.

Detective Constable Collier, of GMPs Oldham district, said: “This incident has left a man with serious injuries, and we need to locate the people who have done this.

"At this time in the morning the area was very busy, so we are hopeful that someone will have noticed any unusual behaviour or witnessed the males running near the scene.

“Of the two males we would like to speak to, one was wearing dark clothing with a long coat, balaclava, blue surgical gloves, and dark trainers.

"The other was wearing a grey hoodie, dark trousers, and dark trainers.”
