Bank £25k if you can prove that Nessie really does exist!

Date published: 08 June 2023

Dave Fishwick, who is also famously known as ‘Bank of Dave’, offered £25,000 to anyone who finds definitive proof of the existence of Nessie.

Dave was live on ITV’s This Morning at the opening of the new Loch Ness Centre in Drumnadrochit - which will officially open its doors on Saturday (June 10) - when he unexpectedly announced the prize fund.

A couple from Chadderton came close to discovering such an existence six years ago when their entry for the 'Best Nessie sighting of 2017' was shortlisted for a William Hill-sponsored competition.

Back in that 2017 competition, a total of 11 sightings - all including picture or video evidence - were recorded and short-listed by Gary Campbell, who kept the official register of sightings of the Loch Ness Monster.

From Saturday, visitors to the Highlands and wannabe monster spotters will be able to walk through 500 million years of history, delve deeper into Scottish myths and legends, and discover the scientific research behind the global phenomena that is the Nessie legend.

Following a £1.5m investment, Continuum Attractions has created a modern, immersive experience where guests can explore the myths and magic of the Loch and its most beloved resident.

Juliana Delaney, Chief Executive of Continuum, said:  “We are absolutely delighted that Dave shares our enthusiasm and passion around this global phenomenon.

"As we look to open our doors, guests will have the opportunity to learn about the legend, and then get to search the famous Loch themselves, armed with further knowledge.

"We wish everyone luck in their search, we know we will be watching the iconic Loch ourselves.

"As the Loch Ness Centre says, ‘Keep Looking’.”

Pre-booked tickets for the new Loch Ness Centre are available in advance online.

Adult tickets start from £13.95 online and Deepscan Cruises tickets start from £19.
