The Saddleworth Show and Wellifest gearing up for another summer spectacular

This year the Saddleworth Show will welcome a light sabre group
The legendary Saddleworth Show and Wellifest are on track for another récord year.
Last year, the events, organised by the Rotary Clubs of Saddleworth and Oldham Metro, raised more than £29,000.
Ticket for Wellifest, the community, family music event to be held on Saturday, June 24, are selling fast and are once again likely to completely sell out.
The line-up promises DJ sets from Mike Sweeney of BBC Radio Manchester fame and headline acts, Manchester Ska Foundation and Foo FighterZ, and other popular bands who will be rocking from 12.30pm to 9.30pm.
There will be increased bar capacity and several new food outlets, as well as traditional ones.
Organisers also have great plans for the Saddleworth Show on Sunday, June 25.
All the favourites will feature again, including Country Corner, an extended dog show to include Retrieval, Agility and Rallying, a Punch and Judy, Kids, Magic Shows and Pony Rides.
Don't forget the traditional duck race too!
This year the event also welcomes a light sabre group who will give anyone of any age training in light sabre fighting as well as professional demonstrations - so go and “let the force awaken within you”.
Meanwhile, teenagers, who will have auditioned with Mahdlo Youth Centre and Oldham Music Centre, will be performing on stage throughout the day.
The winners at the auditions will also perform at Wellifest.
Dont miss out on the biggest fun weekend in the area.
Speaking on behalf of the organising committee, co-chairs Frank Bolger and Clint Elliott, said: “We are confident 2023 will be the biggest and best events we have ever staged.
“Many more local good causes and charities will benefit once again from the hard work.
“The funds raised in 2022 helped hundreds of families struggling in these difficult times, and hopefully 2023 will allow this support to continue and even increase in the year.”
