Investigations continue after man dies in 'workplace accident' at Chadderton industrial unit

GMP and the HSE have both confirmed that an investigation has been launched
Greater Manchester Police and the Health and Safety Executive are continuing to investigate after a man died following a 'work place accident' at an industrial unit in Chadderton.
Emergency services were called to a business premises, believed to be Fothergill Polycom Ltd on Drury Lane in Chadderton, at around 8.30am on Monday (April 24) after responding to reports of an accident.
The man was reportedly treated by paramedics at the scene, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
No further details about the man's identity have been released at this stage.
GMP have confirmed that an investigation has been launched, as have the HSE.
It is understood the business, which is situated on an industrial unit, was taped off by police for a number of hours on Monday, with emergency vehicles spotted at the scene.
A spokesperson for GMP said: "At around 8.30am on Monday 24 April 2023 officers were called to reports of a workplace accident at a business premises in Chadderton.
"Emergency services attended and despite the best efforts of paramedics a man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
A Health and Safety Executive spokeperson told the Chronicle today (Thursday): "We are aware of this incident, which we are investigating alongside Greater Manchester Police.”
