GoFundMe page for critically injured Logan smashes its initial target

Date published: 25 April 2023

A GoFundMe page set up in a bid to raise funds for the family of a critically injured seven-year-old Oldham boy has smashed its initial target.

On the evening of March 30 this year, Mayfield Primary School pupil Logan Dissington was involved in a terrible car accident on Vulcan Street in Derker, during which he suffered life-changing injuries.

He is still receiving extensive treatment at the Manchester Children's Hospital, with his specialist predicting he may not be fit to return home for six months or more.

Jordan Thompson has now set up a GoFundMe page on behalf of Logan's devastated family, and despite an initial target for help of £1,000, currently more than £4,000 has been raised.

A post from Jordan on the GoFundMe page reads: "On March 30th 2023 Logan Dissington 7 years old was involved in a terrible car accident which very unfortunately ended with him being under critical care in hospital.

"Logan is still in hospital under care and in a comatose state for his own safety, he is undergoing a lot of tests and treatments.

"We are trying to raise money to help the family in this tough time and relieve some of the financial burden of being unable to work and stay at his bedside comforting him.

"Our goal is to try and raise £1,000 which will go some way to helping the strain being put on the family, please please donate what you can as it will all help. Thank you."

A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene of Logan's accident by police on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving, before later being released on bail.
