Royton-based Rhodian Wealth Management Ltd hosted the charity auction event at the Oldham Event Centre
A special fund-raising event at the Oldham Event Centre raised more than £7,000 for community service provider, Street Soccer Academy.
Street Soccer Academy is a professional service provider that specialises in the rehabilitation and reintegration of people with, or at risk of developing, complex and multiple needs.
They work on behalf of some of the nation’s hardest to reach groups within our communities, including people with homeless related issues, ex-offenders, those recovering from addictions, mental health conditions, the long-term unemployed and socially isolated individuals.
Street Soccer Academy is experienced in producing sports-based education programmes for its service users.
Through the use of pro social models, they focus on affecting the attitudes and thinking of those who engage, with particular emphasis on their relationships and roles in society.
Through the use of professionally organised sport, they are all about helping service users reach their full potential, creating for themselves a fulfilling and sustainable lifestyle.
Liam Murray, from Royton-based Rhodian Wealth Management Ltd, organised the charity auction event at Latics' stadium.
Andy Thorp, the CEO of Street Soccer Academy, has been a client of Rhodian's for some time and staff always enjoy hearing about the great work him and his team do in the local community.
Liam said: "We decided to host a charity event at Oldham Athletic in aid for Street Soccer Academy through auctioning and raffling items provided to us by local companies and small businesses.
"We invited a number of our clients and people from the local area to join us in raising money for the charity.
"In a time of financial difficulty, it was lovely to see people give generously and raise over £7,000 to contribute towards continuing the work Street Soccer Academy do."
