A popular brewery and taproom in Greenfield has ceased trading.
Donkeystone Brewing Co. announced the shock news on its social media pages last night (Wednesday), blaming the 'current climate'.
The brewery, which was based in the Wellington Industrial Park, made a range of original ales which could be bought in cans or served up in their own taproom at the brewery.
They moved to the Wellington Industrial Park location in June of 2021 having originally been launched in 2017 by Stephen James, Carl Pugh, and Alexander Smalley.
A statement posted on the Donkeystone Brewing Co. Facebook page last night read: "We have some very sad news.
"As from today donkeystone brewing co will no longer be trading.
"The current climate for breweries and the hospitality industry has proven to be insurmountable.
"The increased cost in materials and utilities along with the ongoing decline in consumer confidence has resulted in us having to close.
"We would like to thank all of our staff for all their hard work over the years.
"Also all of our valued customers for there support.
"This situation for us all as you can imagine is crushing.
"We have all put our hearts and souls into this business and met some amazing people.
"Our feelings cannot be put into words."
