Date published: 07 March 2023

A yellow weather warning has been issued as snowy conditions are expected to hit Oldham and the wider north west region on Thursday and Friday.

Details are currently subject to change, but the warning issued indicates that the conditions later this week could impact your travel plans.

Parts of Northern Ireland, North Wales and Northern England are currently expected to see the worst of the conditions on Thursday, with parts of Scotland and Northern England set to see the worst of the snow on Friday.

Five to 10cm of snow could well be seen over the next 48 to 72 hours.

The weather warning is valid from 3am on Thursday through until 6pm on Friday.

Today (Tuesday) in Oldham there will be some cloud slow to clear in southern parts, then there will be blue skies with sunny spells for the rest of the day.

It's feeling cold, and a sharp frost is predicted overnight tonight.

Oldham weather expert Jo Baylis has pledged to update further details over the next 24-48 hours on his Twitter page, @chadweather.
