Police issue witness appeal after teenage girl dies in Coldhurst traffic collision

One man in his 20s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving
Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit have appealed for information after a fatal traffic collision in Oldham yesterday (Thursday), following which a teenage girl died.
Shortly after 1.30pm yesterday, police were called to a collision on Rochdale Road, close to the junction with Crompton Street in Coldhurst.
Officers attended and it was established that two cars were involved in a collision.
One of the cars mounted the pavement and collided with a pedestrian on Rochdale Road at the junction with Crompton Street.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, sadly the pedestrian, a 16-year-old girl, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the injuries she sustained.
One man in his 20s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody for questioning.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident - or may have dashcam or doorbell footage - to please share it with GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU).
