The North West Ambulance Service requested Oldham Mountain Rescue Team assistance with the evacuation of a young female who had fallen from her horse while riding in the quarries at Brushes in Shaw.
The young female sustained potential leg and back injuries in the incident on Friday (February 17).
As the team arrived, the crew on scene had carried out a medical assessment and treatment, so they packaged her in their vacuum mattress and stretcher for the short carry up the hill to the ambulance.
From there she was taken to hospital for further assessment and treatment.
Rob Tortoiseshell, OMRT’s leader, said: "Well done to the friends and family of the casualty for looking after her and keeping her warm.
"And thank you to the gentleman who was a member of Friends of Crompton Moor, who opened the gates for the emergency vehicles.
"We wish the young lady all the best for a speedy recovery.”
A total of 11 OMRT personnel were involved for one hour.
