A scene from Tuesday's rescue drama
The Oldham Mountain Rescue Team assisted the North West Ambulance Service with the location, treatment and evacuation of a male who had collapsed while out walking in the Dovestones area on Tuesday afternoon (February 14).
A location was provided but, following a brief search, no one could be found in that area.
Thankfully, after another phone call to the informant, the rescue team were able to establish their whereabouts as just below Fox Stone and then get personnel to them, including an NWAS paramedic.
Following an assessment by the paramedic and one of the team's casualty carers, the male was carried on a stretcher down to the waiting NWAS ambulance for onward transport to hospital.
OMRT leader Rob Tortoiseshell said: “We wish the gentleman all the best for a speedy recovery.”
A totla of 15 OMRT personnel were involved for one hour and 25 minutes.
