Clark Tracey, the son of jazz legend Stan Tracey, is coming to Uppermill in early March to play with Manchester-based Hootin’ Annies Big Band.
The band will be playing alongside, and under the direction of, the internationally renowned drummer for their show on Sunday, March 12, starting at 2:30pm, at Uppermill Civic Hall.
Clark has performed many TV, radio, film and live performances, and is a composer as well as an educator in several leading music colleges and conservatories.
He has recorded more than 90 albums (11 as a leader) and performed in over 50 countries.
The band will perform a range of music written by both Stan Tracey and Clark, as well as one or two Duke Ellington pieces, arranged by Stan.
Debbie Hall, who leads the band, said: "We are delighted Clark has agreed to join us for our show at the Civic Hall.
"Not only will he be playing, but he will be directing the band too, which is a huge opportunity for our members."
