Drug dealer who hid revolver under his bed jailed for six years

A 29-year-old man from nearby Gorton who had drugs, a firearm and ammunition inside his home, has been jailed.

Glen Marlow, of Buckley Road, had the revolver, heroin and cocaine inside a red holdall that was hidden underneath his bed.

The items, along with almost £6,000 in cash, were seized following a warrant that was executed at the property on October 13, 2022, by officers from GMP’s Challenger City of Manchester north team.

The total street value of the class A drugs, which included 165g of cocaine and 1.1kg of heroin plus 721g of bulking agent, were valued at £205,000.

Marlow was arrested and taken into custody to be questioned before he was charged.

He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, heroin and crack cocaine and possession of a firearm.

He also admitted to money laundering in relation to his house and was sentenced to six years on Friday (January 20).

Detective Constable Chris Anders, from Challenger’s City of Manchester north team, said: “Thanks to information received from the public, it led us to execute the warrant at Marlow’s address and recover a dangerous weapon along with ammunition.

“This has enabled us to take it out of circulation and prevented it from potentially being transferred, and used, by criminals who are involved in organised crime.

“It’s evident that Marlow was supplying a significant amount of class A drugs and concealing his activity within his property.

“We can only keep driving out organised crime with the continued support of the public.

"Please keep sending through information to police or via Crimestoppers and be assured that we will act on it and keep pursuing people like Marlow to put them behind bars.”

If you have information, please report it by contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or by calling GMP via 101.
