Witnesses sought after man suffers 'life-threatening' injuries in motorway crash

Emergency services attended and a man in his 30s was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries
Transport Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision on the M66 Northbound yesterday evening (Monday).
At around 7:15pm last night, Greater Manchester Police received reports of a serious road traffic collision between two vehicles on the M66 northbound.
Emergency services attended and a man in his 30s was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and assisted officers with their investigation.
PC Karl Horner, from GMPs Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Officers and emergency services worked tirelessly to try and clear the scene and create a safe route for drivers and passengers.
"We were aware that the incident caused significant delays and I would like to thank the public for their patience.
"We would also like to appeal to any witnesses of this accident, or anyone who has dash-cam footage and was driving on the M66 northbound minutes before the incident, to come forward.
"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
