Police probe follows Shaw traffic collision during which 80-year-old man suffered serious injuries

Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for further information following a road traffic collision in Shaw.

At around 9pm on Saturday evening (January 14), officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Beal Lane in Shaw.

Officers attended the scene and a 80-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver remained at the scene and no arrests were made.

Enquiries suggest that the vehicle (a white Hyundai) was travelling westbound along Beal Lane approaching the junction with Duke Street when the pedestrian fell into the passing car.

GMP’s serious collision investigation unit (SCIU) are appealing to the public for any further information in regard to this incident.

Anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage or who was in the area or witnessed the incident should contact GMP on 0161 856 4741, quoting log 2867 of 14/01/2023.
